Jim and Barb Martin had lived in their Macomb home for over 30 years. Now they found themselves needing to replace their roof for the second time, as the roof they had recently had installed had begun to fail. This was due to improper installation techniques as well as an abundance of box vents that can lead to weakening the roof deck over time. When they realized it was time to pay for another roof replacement they knew they wanted it to be the last time. Their search for the best materials led them to CertainTeed products. Part of what makes CertainTeed the best is the training they offer to any company that installs their product. This is what led the Martin’s to Pro Home Improvement. We make it a point to get our installers trained and certified in the best methods for installing a CertainTeed replacement roof. This training also allows us to offer the most inclusive guarantee on the market. Which is why Jim and barb ultimately chose us for their roofing project.
When our roofing crew arrived they got to work prepping the area around the home for removal in order to protect the landscape around the Martins’ home. They then proceeded with the removal of the old roof as well as prepping the deck for the new roof that would be installed. The holes where the previous can vents had been installed were sealed up with brand new boards and the ridge vents were installed along the peaks in order to ensure proper airflow throughout the attic spaces. After laying down ice & water shield, as well as our synthetic underlayment the crew began installing their shingles. Jim and Barb chose our Georgetown Gray shingles to beautifully compliment the rest of their home’s exterior. Once install was complete the crew cleaned up the tarps and inspected the area around the home to make sure they had not missed any nails or scraps.
